Reading at Salt Pond Studio

I was thrilled to debut a brand new piece of Creative Nonfiction alongside writers Lorraine Salmon and Charlotte Annie on October 19th at Salt Pond Studio in Friendship, Maine.

Lorraine was in from New York to read from and sign her poignant memoir, What’s Better Than This?

Charlotte Annie shared a beautiful piece from her work of Creative Nonfiction on eulogies.

It was great to be back in Friendship, where the creative arts are well and thriving with the support of Charlotte and artist Pam Cabanas, who sponsored the event that was held at Pam’s lovingly restored Salt Pond Studio.

It’s always exciting when I have an opportunity  to expand my creative connections!

Writing in the New Year

WritingNewYear

Are you ready to make the most of the your creativity as we turn the page on 2019?

Please join me for a Writing Workshop that will begin in early January and run for 6-to-8 weeks. We will meet weekly for two hours.

Is it time to breathe life into some characters who have been rambling around in your brain? Or perhaps capture the chapters of your life? Make the most of our introspective season and begin, or expand, your story in a supportive environment.

This class will be a hybrid, as I will include both fiction and non-fiction writers in the group. You will be supported in your writing goals and encouraged to produce new work each week for sharing.

You can expect to receive custom advice for your work, as well as original prompts and exercises to get your creative juices flowing.

All levels of writers, both new and experienced, writing across all genres, are welcome, provided they are motivated and open to a group experience. Feedback will follow an acknowledgement model as opposed  to critique. You will need to adhere to good artistic camaraderie.

Classes will be held in a private setting in Camden, Maine. Please email questions or register at TheVillageScribe@hotmail.com.

I look forward to helping you bring your story to the page!

Release Fear & Accept Abundance

LakshmiGoddessCar(Source: Goddess Oracle Deck by Doreen Virtue, Hay House Publishing)

The benevolent Hindu goddess Lakshmi is all about releasing any fears and accepting the abundance that is flowing to us. In this image, she is surrounded by water, elephants, the sun and lotus flowers – all powerful symbols of the goodness the universe wants to shower on us.

The coming total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21st coupled with a new moon, are bringing intense energies, meant to help us purge darkness and break through to the light. She invites us to cleanse our hearts of fears around lack and to envision the abundance we want to invite into our lives during this powerful day. We can draw on her energy to help support us as we step into a brighter future.

As the sun and the moon engage in an unusual dance in the sky today, the energies require a balancing of the masculine and feminine within us humans so we can open our hearts and express our creative natures to take advantage of the Leo aspects of this eclipse.

Lakshmi works with Ganesh, the elephant-headed Hindu god who is known to remove obstacles from our path, working with our own intentions and wishes. The raised trunks of the elephants are a sign of good luck, fortune and optimism.

Spend some time leading up to Monday’s new moon and eclipse in meditation, chant, prayer and visualizing the goodness you are ready to embrace in your life as you release any fears around lack. See obstacles melting away and visualize the goodness you want to manifest, as your heart expands. Begin a new chapter in your own life, and with all humanity as we shift into a more positive way of being and living.
